The Chesapeake Woodturners and the Woodturning Co-Op at Maryland Hall will meet Saturday, May 16 at 9 AM in the woodturning room at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.

The meeting will begin with a short business report followed by a demonstration by this months guest, Michael Mocho.

Micheal's presentation will cover a variety of design strategies and techniques for creating and altering box and vessel forms. He will illustrate how tool and material selection, sharpening, RPM, and stance all effect the nuances of final form and surface quality. Michael will also demonstrate a variety of on lathe textural techniques including chatter-work, indexed embossing, radial flutting, and spiral work using the versarile and often tricky Sorby spiral and texturing tool, he will also illustrate the creative possibilities of innovative free-hand abrasive techniques both on and off the lathe by using particular cross-section turnings as a starting point. This demo will change the way you look at your turned forms and will inspire new explorations. For More Information visit www.mmocho.com

There will be a $15 charge for members and guests.
