Potential Display Opportunity for CW Members

Post date: Aug 5, 2012 3:58:54 PM

Lenore Miller, Director of University Art Galleries at George Washington

University, has requested images of available turned wood pieces which

might compliment pre-Columbian clay vessels (including hollow forms) in

a wall case display to be opened in October, titled Turned and Burnt.

Turned wood in the display will primarily be a collection of pieces

donated several years ago by Jane and Arthur Mason to GW University.

They wish to include one piece by a member from each of the three AAW

chapters in this area. Each turner selected will also be invited to

discuss their work at the opening reception planned for October 8, 2012,

in the Media and Public Affairs Building, 805 21st St NW, in DC.

Please send up to ten images (with your name in the image titles) and

size information soon, and by August 19th, to Phil Brown at

philfbrown@comcast.net. You will be informed by September whether or

not a piece of your work has been selected for the exhibit.
